Box Score Birmingham, Ala. - The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to UAB on Tuesday afternoon at the Hoover Met Tennis Center.
The Penguins (5-6) picked up a win at No. 2 singles as Clement Mainguy won by default with his match tied at a set apiece.
In doubles, UAB (10-4) picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to claim the point. The match at No. 1 featuring Mainguy and Nathan Favier was tied 5-5 when the point was clinched.
In singles, David Alvarez Moreno lost in three sets. He dropped a first-set tiebreaker before winning his second set 7-5.
YSU is back in action on Wednesday when it takes on Samford. First serve against the Bulldogs is set for Noon Eastern time/11 a.m. Central time.
