Box Score DeKalb, Ill. - The Youngstown State men's tennis team defeated North Dakota 4-2 on Saturday night at the Nelson Tennis Center.
YSU (5-4) won four singles contests, including three in three sets, to defeat the previously unbeaten Fighting Hawks.
In singles play, Laurentiu Mandocescu won 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 at No. 1, Nathan Favier picked up a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 and Will Everett claimed a 6-4, 2-6 and 6-2 victory in the three-set wins.
The Guins clinched the victory when Javi Pla won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.
UND won at No. 2 singles in three sets and took wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to earn its two points.
YSU returns to action on March 7 when it travels to UAB.
