
Volleyball to Celebrate Senior Night Friday Against Robert Morris

The Youngstown State volleyball team will celebrate seniors Josi Borum, Kiley Mitchell, Elise Moeller and Isidora Sisic on Friday evening as the Penguins will play their final match of the 2023 season. YSU will host Robert Morris at 6 p.m. inside Beeghly Center, and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Recapping Last Week
Youngstown State began this three-match homestand in November by splitting a pair of matches last weekend. The Penguins outlasted IUPUI for a 3-2 victory last Friday, and they dropped a three-set decision to Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday.

- Youngstown State tied its season high with 11 aces in the victory against IUPUI. That match had 42 points decided at the service line.
- The Penguins also had a dozen blocks against IUPUI, which was their third-highest total of the campaign.
- Dayan Malave surpassed 250 kills at YSU in the Penguins' win over IUPUI. She has 255 kills on a .285 attack percentage in her two seasons on campus. She transferred to YSU from Iowa Western prior to the 2022 season.
- Isabel Schaefbauer recorded her 1,500th career assist in the match against Purdue Fort Wayne.
- Isidora Sisic notched the 100th ace of her of YSU career by posting five last week. She had a season-high-tying four aces in 14 attempts in the win over IUPUI.

- Jocelyn Jourdan is 11 kills away from reaching 100 this season.

Scouting Robert Morris
- Team Overview: Robert Morris is 7-21 overall and 4-13 in Horizon League play as it enters its season finale. The Colonials are 1-10 on the road, but that victory was an impressive four-set win at Cleveland State on Sept. 22. RMU snapped a five-match skid with a 3-1 win over Purdue Fort Wayne last Friday.
- League Rankings: Robert Morris ranks fourth in the Horizon League with 15.68 digs per set, and it sits fifth in the rankings with 1.53 aces per set. Defensively, RMU is allowing just 1.40 aces per set, which is the second-best mark in the conference. Opponents are hitting .256 against the Colonials this season
- Individual Leaders: Freshman Natalie Stepanovich ranks second in the Horizon League with 3.36 kills per set, and Ashleigh Wallin and she rank fifth and sixth, respectively in the circuit in aces per set. Allena Carmody is pacing the Colonials with 4.32 digs per set, a mark that ranks sixth in the league, and Emma Brown is RMU's top blocker with 0.61 per set.
