Zach Gray posted personal-best marks at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
Taylor cleared a height of 2.10m to best his lifetime best of 2.07m which he previously had on Sunday at the Horizon League Championships. He cleared the bar on his third and final try before attempting a height of 2.15m which would have tied the school mark held by YSU jumps coach
Arnaldo Morales.
Lanese moved into a tie for third on the all-time YSU list by clearing 1.70m. Her previous-best effort was 1.68m. She attempted to clear a height of 1.75m, but was unsuccessful in her three attempts.
Gray had a winning throw of 53.57m in the discus which is now the second-longest heave in school history. On his second attempt, he uncorked his 53.57m toss which bettered his previous long of 52.45m. He moved into second ahead of Josh Hacker who had been in that spot since 2001.
Samuel Challis was first among 11 competitors in the long jump with best mark of 7.19m.
Nia Williams-Matthews won the triple jump with a leap of 11.89m.
Olivia Jones won the women's javelin with a throw of 42.38m.
Dominic Perry took first place in the shot put with a toss of 16.52m.
In the men's javelin,
Noah Drudy had a third-place throw of 58.87m while
Weston McLain placed fourth throwing a personal-best distance of 58.69m.
Molly Radcliffe was second in the shot put with a toss of 13.30m.
In the long jump
Stephanie Simon took second in the long jump with a best effort of 5.66.
