Miamisburg, Ohio - The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Dayton on Friday at the South Regency Tennis Center.
The Penguins (0-3) won two singles matches against the Flyers (5-3).
Harry Fouzas picked up a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Steven Karl at No. 4 singles. Clement Mainguy earned a 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 three-set win over Will Harper. The Flyers won in straight sets at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 singles.
YSU and UD split the first two completed matches in doubles play. The Penguins' Will Everett and Fouzas won 6-4 while the Flyers earned a 6-4 win at No. 1. In the decisive match at No. 3, Mainguy and Nathan Favier dropped a 7-6 decision to Harper and Connor Bruce.
The Penguins are in action tomorrow in Cincinnati against Xavier. First serve against the Musketeers is set for 6 p.m.
