TIFFIN, Ohio - While competing in only two events on the day, the three members of the Youngstown State throws team had a successful final showing at the Tiffin Reggie Thomas Classic on Saturday at Frost-Kalnow Stadium.
Kaitlyn Merwin, representing the Penguins best finish, posted a top-5 mark in the women's shot put, posting a 13.07 throw in the event. Teammate Lauren Sheehan finished seventh with a 12. 80m throw.
On the men's side, Zach Gray recorded a 15.69m throw in the men's shot put, earning a ninth-place finish in the event ahead of 32 entries. Not to be largely outdone, teammate Brock Grundy posts a 14.41 to finish eleventh.
