Tulsa, Okla. - Youngstown State's Laurentiu Mandocescu won his first singles match at the ITA Men's Tennis Championships on Saturday before dropping a second-round contest.

In his first match, Mandocescu picked up an impressive 6-0, 6-3 win over UT-Arlington's Solano Caffarena. In his second round matchup, he lost 6-2, 6-3 to Oklahoma's Jordan Hasson.

The Penguins are next in action this Friday and Saturday when they play host to the YSU Hidden Duals at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
