The Youngstown State women's tennis team is set to host their first Penguin Team Tennis Clash of the fall on Saturday morning at the YSU Tennis Center.
Team Guins will take on Team Red at 9 a.m. in a first to five/best-of-eight competition. No spectators will be allowed in the facility for the event.
Team Guins will consist of Tamara Teufl, Lucia Zagar, Jessica Stanmore and newcomer Eliska Masarikova. Team Red will be Imaan Hassim, Claudia Barboza, Elvira Esteo and newcomer Cecilia Rosas.
The players will each play one singles match and two doubles matches. Should the match be tied at four, two singles matches and a doubles contest will decide the winner. The team that wins two of the three contests will win the match.
- Format
- Singles: 2 sets to 5 games (tiebreak at 4-4)
- 1st round: Two doubles matches
- 2nd round: Two doubles matchs. The teams are put together by the captains of each teams after the first round of double.
- 4 singles (4 points). (The score after single can therefore be 4-0, 3-1 or 2-2).
- 2 rounds of doubles (4 points)
- If the teams tie to 4-4:
- Format: one tie-break to 7 points.
- Captains decide of one double and two singles teams that will go back on court at the same time
- The team that wins 2 out of 3 is the winner
