Women's Soccer Falls to IUPUI, 2-0

The Youngstown State women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to IUPUI on Friday night at Farmers National Bank Field in the Covelli Sports Complex.
The Penguins fall to 4-9-1 overall and 0-5 in the Horizon League while the Jaguars won their 10th straight match to improve to 11-3 overall and 5-0 in league play.
In the match's eighth minute, IUPUI's Hayley Shelton put the Jags on the board first when she found the back of the goal after rebound off of YSU goalkeeper Kylee Moffatt, who had four saves.
Shelton assisted on the Jaguars second goal in the 33rd minute. Shelton lifted a direct kick into the center of the box and Jessica Flores' header into the top right corner gave the Jaguars a 2-0 lead.
The Penguins tallied eight shots and three shots on goal but IUPUI goalkeeper Sophia Lipka denied each shot on goal.
Youngstown State hosts UIC, Saturday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.
