Boardman - The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to Dayton on Saturday night at the Boardman Tennis Center. Hugo Morth and Yossi Dahan picked up singles wins for the Penguins.
YSU (1-1) dropped the doubles point to the Flyers (2-2) before winning two of the five completed singles matches.
Morth defeated Carsten Fisher 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 while Dahan earned a straight-set 6-4, 6-1 win over Bernardo Sanson at No. 4.
The Flyers had singles wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 in straight sets. Gabriel Tolesani had a 7-5, 4-4 lead against Lorenzo Rollhauser at No. 5 when the match was halted.
In doubles play, the Flyers won 6-4 at No. 1 and 6-2 at No. 2 to clinch the point.
YSU returns to action on Friday when it visits Duquesne at 10 a.m.
