Irvine, Calif. - The Youngstown State men's tennis team wrapped up its three-match trip to California with a 7-0 defeat to UCI Irvine at the Maneater Tennis Stadium.
At No. 2 doubles, Dawoud Kabli and Bassem El Mekawi teammed up for a 6-3 win. The Anteaters (9-9) won the other two matches to claim the point.
In singles, UCI won all six in straight sets as Youssef Sherif hung tough at No. 6 against Andrew Gong.
The Penguins (3-9) return to action on March 21 when they play at Dayton.
