Kalamazoo, Mich. - Dawoud Kabli picked up a singles victory as the Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 68 Western Michigan on Saturday mornign at the West Hill Tennis Center.
Kabli picked up a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Pablo Mora at No. 5 singles.
In doubles, the Penguins picked up a win at No. 1 as Remi Chancerel and Hugo Morth earned a 6-2 win over Stephen Payne and Matt Hamilton.
At No. 3 singles, Bassem El Mekawi lost a tough three-set match to Matt Hamilton. El Mekawi won the first set 6-3 before dropping the next two 6-2 and 6-3. At No. 1 singles, Chancerel dropped a hard-fought 7-6, 6-7, 10-8 decison to Jefta Kecic.
The Penguins have a quick turnaround in matches as they plat at Michigan State today at 6 p.m.
