Women's Soccer Holds on For 2-1 Senior Night Victory Over UIC

Youngstown -- Seniors Tyesha Kizer and Macey Riese each scored goals and the Youngstown State women's soccer team held off UIC for a 2-1 Horizon League victory on a rainy Saturday night at Farmers National Bank Field.
With the win, the Penguins improve to 7-10 overall and 2-6 in the Horizon League while the Flames fall to 5-11-2 overall and 2-5-1 in the league.
In the 28th minutes, Riese scored her second goal of the year after a free kick from Katie Hackos. The ball ricocheted to Riese at the six and she found the lower-right corner.
The 1-0 lead stood for nearly 45 minutes when Kizer found a loose ball deep in Flames territory and drilled a shot from 20 yards out to give the Penguins a 2-0 advantage.
Just over two minutes later Emily Wauer got the Flames within one when her shot hit the crossbar and barely crossed the goalline when YSU goalkeeper tried to secure the ball.
Montgomery had five saves, including four in the second half.
The Penguins close out the regular season at Oakland, Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m.
