Women's Soccer Comes Back to Beat Detroit, 2-1

Youngstown -- Sophomore Kyler Lum scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the Youngstown State women's soccer team to a 2-1 comeback victory over Detroit on Wednesday evening at Farmers National Bank Field.
The Penguins improve to 6-10 overall and 1-6 in the Horizon League while the Titans fall to 6-8-2 overall and 2-4-1 in the league.
The Penguins fell behind 1-0 when Detroit's Phylisha Drayton scored in the 16th minute.
Lum tied the match at the 22:29 mark after taking a feed from Katie Hackos and drilling a shot from 20 yards out into the lower left corner.
With less than five minutes before halftime, junior Tyesha Kizer's header from a Lum corner kick found the right side of the goal and gave the Penguins a 2-1 lead. It was Kizers's first goal of the year.
Junior goalkeeper Katie Montgomery posted another solid match in the net and recorded nine saves. Montgomery was especially stellar in the second half collecting six saves after halftime.
The Penguins host UIC on Senior Night, Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
