Toledo, Ohio - The Youngstown State men's tennis team opened its fall slate at the three-day tournament hosted by Toledo. YSU played matches against Chicago State, Wayne State, Mercyhurst and Cleveland State during the event.

The Penguins took four matches from Wayne State and Mercyhurst, split six matches against Chicago State and won two of three from Cleveland State on Sunday.

Making a strong debut for YSU was Matthew Kritzinger who won all four of his matches over the weekend. Bassem El Mekawi won four of five decisions for the Guins over the three days as well. 

Gabriel Tolesani won twice, while Youssef Sherif and Yossi Dahan each picked up wins at the invitational.

The Penguins are next in action at the Valparasio Invitational on Oct. 16-18.
