Warren, Ohio - The Youngstown State men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 win over Robert Morris on Friday at the Trumbull Tennis Center. YSU improves to 3-6 on the campaign while RMU is now 0-5.
The Penguins won all three doubles matches to earn the point, won four singles matches in straight sets, one in three sets and took the final match in a single set.
In doubls play, Dawoud Kabli and Sebastian Hagn won 8-3 at No. 1, Zeeshan Ismail and Sharvil Nawghere earned a 8-4 decision at No. 2 while Rodrigo Campos and Max Schmerin won 8-3 at No. 3.
In singles play, Hagn, Schmerin, Campos and Ismail all won in straight sets. At No. 1, Hagn defeated Angus Thomson 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2, Schmerin defeated Matheus Neves Ferreira 6-1, 6-3. In play at No. 3, Kabli rallied after losing the first set 6-3 to Bruno Russo before taking the next two 6-3, 6-1.
At No. 4, Ismail picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win over Eduardo Rodriquez. In action at No. 5, Campos earned a 7-6, 6-2 win over Juan Andres Hirmas and at No. 6, Nawghere won 8-5 over Fernando Leite.
The Penguins are scheduled to play at St. Bonaventure on Sunday at 10 a.m.
