Late Overtime Goal Lifts Valparaiso Past Women's Soccer, 1-0

Valparaiso, Ind. -- The Youngstown State women's soccer team and Valparaiso fought through a scoreless match for more than 99 minutes before the Crusaders' Grace Rogers scored with 44 seconds left in overtime for a 1-0 victory on Saturday night at Brown Field.
The Penguins fall to 6-6-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the Horizon League while Valparaiso improves to 8-1-4 overall and 4-0 in the league.
The Penguins took just five shots and had one shot on goal while the Crusaders were credited with 13 shots and nine shots on goal.
YSU sophomore goalkeeper Katie Montgomery posted eight saves.
The Penguins are off for 11 days before hosting Cleveland State, Wednesday, Oct. 22, on Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
