Walnut, Calif. -- Youngstown State sophomore distance runner Anna Pompeo highlighted the performances of seven Penguins who competed at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 19-21 at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
On Thursday, Pompeo ran a personal-best time of 36:22.13 in the 10,000 meters on Thursday night to finish 10th out of 34 runners. Pompeo erased 15 seconds off her previous best time in the event and now ranks second in school history and currently ranks second in the Horizon League.
"Anna did a great job running and executing even splits in a National race situation," Gorby said.
On Friday, Ciara Jarrett finished 15th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.87 seconds. She had a time of 24.24 seconds in the 200 meters. Michael Davis had a time of 10.87 seconds in the 100-meter dash and a time of 21.80 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Martin Solomon posted a time of 14.86 in the 110-meter hurdles. Samantha Hamilton had a time of 16:39.67 in the 5,000-meter run.
On Saturday, Bobby Grace competed in the shot put with a toss of 17.40 meters.
The Penguins return to action on Friday at the Penn Relays.
