Youngstown State junior sprinter Ciara Jarrett will compete in the 200-meter dash at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary on Friday at the Belk Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.

Jarrett has had an outstanding junior campaign claiming the Horizon League titles in the 200m dash in both indoor and outdoor. At the outdoor meet earlier this month, she set a Horizon League record with a time of 23.83 seconds. Her best time this spring in the 200m was a 23.78 which ranks her 36th in the East.

Jarrett will compete in the 200m dash on Friday at 8 p.m. A group of qualifiers from Friday will advance to run on Saturday at 7:35 p.m. in the NCAA quarterfinals. On Friday she is set to run in the fourth of six perliminary heats.

The qualifiers out of the West (Austin, Texas) and East regions will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
