2013 (Junior): Pitched in 24 games as a reliever... Was 3-1 with a 6.14 ERA in 22.0 innings... Allowed 19runs, 15 of which were earned, on 27 hits and 22 walks... Struck out 15 batters, and opponents hit .300 off of him... Did not allow a run in 15 of his outings... Was 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA in league contests... Won each of his last three decisions... Earned his first win against Morehead State on March 5 despite allowing a go-ahead home run in the seventh inning... YSU rallied with three runs in the eighth to give Frey his first career victory... Got the victory at UIC on March 16, retiring both batters he faced in the eighth inning... His final win came at Wright State on March 30, when he came in and retired the only batter he faced in the seventh... Did not allow a run in seven consecutive outings from April 20 to May 14, a span of 6.2 innings... Pitched two innings twice – at Ohio on March 19 and against Canisius on May 14...Held the Golden Griffins scoreless on just one hit.

2012 (Redshirt Sophomore): Pitched in two games out of the bullpen as he continued to work his way back from Tommy John surgery... Allowed five earned runs on three hits and seven walks in 1 2/3 innings... Made his season debut on May 5 atButler and pitched one inning... That was his first outing since May 27, 2010... Also pitched 2/3 of an inning against Valparaiso in the Horizon League Tournament (5/24).

2011 (Sophomore): Redshirted while recovering fromout of Tommy John surgery.

2010 (Freshman): Made 23 appearances outof the bullpen, primarily as a match-up specialist... Had a record of 0-1 with a 7.45 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 19.1 innings... Held lefties to a .269 batting average... Did not allow an earned run in 14 of his appearances... Had a 3.12 ERA in 10 appearances against Horizon League opponents... Struck out three batters four different times... Three of his four outs came via strikeout against UIC(4/3)... threw a season-long 3-1/3 innings against Milwaukee, striking out three and walking one (4/23)... Did not go longer than an inning in any of his final 10 appearances. 

High School: Earned three letters and was a one-time team captain... Went 6-1 with 91 strikeouts and a 1.04 ERA as a senior... Posted a career 17-4 record, 205 strikeouts and 1.14 ERA... Set school career and season records for strikeouts and ERA... Helped lead the Hillers to a section title in his senior year... Earned first-team all-district honors as a junior and senior... Earned the MVP pitching award in the WPIAL Class AAA vs.AAAA All-Star game after striking out eight batters in four innings... Also played basketball and football, earning three letters in each.

Personal: Parents are Patrick and Caroline Frey... Has a brother (Patrick) and a sister (Carly)... Major is middle childhood education.
