2013 (Junior): Played in 40 games,20 of which he started... Made 12 starts in the outfield and eight at designated hitter... Batted .218 with 10 runs, two doubles, a homer and seven RBIs... was 2-for-3 on stolen base attempts... Had two hits on four occasions... Hit his home run against Manhattan on March 9 at Pittsburgh... That concluded a season-long three-game hitting streak... Also scored twice against the Jaspers... Drove in a season-high two runs at UIC (3/16)... Was 2-for-2 with a run scored off the bench against Wright State (5/3).
2012 (Sophomore): Played in 33games, eight of which he started in the outfield... Made six starts in left field and one each in center and right... Started six of the final nine games... Batted .300 with 12 hits in 40 at bats...Scored eight runs, had one double and drove in three runs... Posted a .325 slugging percentage and a .408 on-base percentage... Hit .435 against Horizon League teams (10-for-23)... Hit safely in five of his final six games... Went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in a start at Wright State (4/7)... Also scored twice and drove in a run at Valparaiso (5/18)... Scored, had two singles, walked twice and stole a base against Wright State (5/13).
2011 (Freshman): Played in 24 games, three of which he started in right field... Batted .111 with four runs and three RBIs... Two of his three hits came as a substitute at Xavier when he went 2-for-2 with a double, a run and an RBI(3/16)... Also scored and had an RBI at Tennessee Tech (3/12) and against Niagara (3/19)... Scored as a pinch runner at Valpo(4/17)... Had a pinch-hit single in the eighth against Milwaukee(5/7).
High School: Earned three letters and was team captain one year... Hit .533 with four home runs, seven doubles, three triples and 24 RBIs as a senior... Earned first-team all-region and all-district accolades... As a junior, hit .455 with six home runs to earn first-team all-region honors... Helped lead Hickory to three regional titles and two district titles... Was also a two-time second-team all-region selection in golf...Academically, was named to the high honor roll.
Personal: Son of Steve and Cyndy Saluga...Has a brother (Michael)... Major is middle childhood education...Recipient of the 2013-14 George M. and Helen L. Kohut Scholarship.
