2016 Outdoor (Sophomore): Finished second in the 100m dash and the 200m dash at the Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships...ran the anchor legs on the 4x100 and 4x400m relay teams...the 4x100 placed second while the 4x400 was fourth...ran four races on the final day helping YSU score 29 points...the Penguins claimed the title by two points...had a time of 10.66 in the 100m dash which was .001 from tying for first place...clocked in at 21.46 seconds in the 200m dash...had a league-meet record time of 21.10 second in 200m qualifying...ran a 10.72 in qualifying for the 100m dash...had a best time of 10.47 seconds in the 100m at the Northeast Ohio Quad...top time of 21.08 in the 200m dash came at OSU’s Jesse Owens Classic.

2016 Indoor (Sophomore): Placed third in the 200-meter dash at the Horizon League Championships with a time of 21.63 seconds to help the Penguins win the HL Championships...took sixth in the 60-meter dash at the HL Championships with a time of 6.95 seconds...ran a personal-best in the 60-meter dash at the YSU College Invitational with a time of 6.91 seconds...had a personal-best mark in the 200-meter dash at the SPIRE DI NCAA Invitational with a time of 21.44 seconds.

2015 Outdoor (Freshman): Won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.03 seconds at the Horizon League Championships...took first by .08 seconds (over teammate Carl Zallow who won the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash at the Horizon League Indoor Championships earlier that year)...had a time of 10.78 seconds in the prelims...placed third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.02 seconds...ran the opening leg of the second-place 4x100-meter relay at the HL meet with the season best time of 41.06...also ran the first leg of the 4x400 relay which ran its season best time of 3:23.69... Leighton received the award for 'Outstanding Freshman of the Meet' in the Running Events for his accomplishments at the HL Championships...had a best time of 10.60 seconds in the 100 meter dash at the Slippery Rock Dave Labor Invitational...also had a best in the 200 meter dash of 21.43 seconds at the SRU meet...ran a season best in the 400 meter at the Raleigh Relays with a time of 52.04.

2015 Indoor (Freshman): Had a personal-best of 50.67 seconds in the 400-meter dash at the Horizon League Championship...achieved a personal-best of 7.01 seconds in the 60-meter dash at the Akron Zips Invitational...had a personal-best in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.27 at the SPIRE Midwest invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL: As a senior, placed third in the 400-meter race with a time of 49.67 seconds at the Indoor Ohio Championships...as a junior, won the 400m at the Ohio indoor meet...in outdoor, placed fifth in the 200-meter dash at the Ohio Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 21.90 seconds as a junior...was ninth as part of the 4x400-meter relay squad as well.
