Penguins Drop 2-0 Contest at USF

Tampa, Fla. – Sophomore Kamryn Rosa recorded a career-high eight shots, but the Youngstown State women's soccer team fell to South Florida, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Corbett Stadium.
The Penguins fall to 0-6-1 on the year while the Bulls improve to 2-4-0 on the season.
Youngstown State and USF battled through a scoreless match for more than 30 minutes before the Bulls' Dora Szabo slid a right-footer to the left-bottom corner for 1-0 lead in the 31st minute.
The Penguins applied more offensive pressure in the second half, tallying nine of their 11 shots after the intermission, but could not find the net.
USF, however, added an insurance goal in the 80th minute in Reese Rupe's score.
Freshman goalkeeper Cami Givens posted four saves while Aimee Benton added two stops.
Youngstown State returns home to host Duquesne, Thursday, Sept. 10. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
