Youngstown, Ohio – Sophomore Ghita Haouzi scored in the 88th minute to force a 1-1 draw against Duquesne on Thursday night at Farmers National Bank Field.
The Penguins move to 0-6-2 on the year while Duquesne in now 3-3-1.
Trailing 1-0 in the with just more than two minutes remaining, fifth-year Elena Zuchowski lofted a pass to the left side to the feet of Rylee Sorrell. Ava Yurko took Sorrell's touch pass and placed a short through ball to Haouzi just on the outside of the 18, and Haouzi's left-footer beat the Duquesne goalkeeper and found the right side of the net.
The Penguins continued the pressure the Dukes and nearly scored the game-winning goal in the final two minutes of the game. Kamryn Rosa blasted a shot at the top of the 18 that went high with 1:49 to go.
The Penguins sent a through ball up the middle of the field which pulled goalkeeper Ali Hughes out the box, who beat a charging Sara Felder to the ball and was able to clear.
