Penguins Fall to Miami (Ohio)

Oxford, Ohio – The Youngstown State women's soccer team posted more shots on goal, but the Penguins dropped a 2-0 non-conference decision to Miami (Ohio) on Sunday evening at Bobby Kramig Field.
With the loss the Penguins fall to 0-4-1 on the season while the Redhawks improve to 2-3-0.
Senior Sara Felder led the Penguins with six total shots and two shots on goal while sophomore Baylee Williams was credited with three shots and one on target.
Ghita Haouzi, Kamryn Rosa and Gwen Schulman each posted two shots while both of Rosa's shots were on goal.
Miami's Kayla Perfect put the Redhawks up 1-0 in the 16th minute of the game. The match remained a one-score contest for the next 60 minutes when Katie O'Malley extended the lead to 2-0 in the 76th minute.
The Penguins, who outshot the Miami in the first half, 10-5, posted 16 total shots and owned an advantage in shots on goal, 7-5.
Youngstown State visits SEC member No. 20 Florida, Thursday, Sept. 3. Kickoff is set 6:30 p.m. at Donald R. Dizney Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.
