YSU Football Receives MVFC All-Academic Award

The Youngstown State University football team has earned the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Academic Award for the 2025-26 school year, the organization announced on Friday.
This is the first time YSU has won the MVFC All-Academic Award. The Guins out shined three other MVFC schools, North Dakota,North Dakota State and South Dakota State.
Established in 2005 to recognize team academic achievements, the MVFC All-Academic Award is based on the average student-athlete grade-point average for the previous academic year. GPA calculations include all student-athletes who compete, practice or receive academic aid during the school year.
Youngstown State's 3.36 GPA during the 2025-26 school year is the second highest GPA the team has earned. The Guins have posted 3.0 or better team GPAs over the past two seasons.
