FCS Football Central Anounces Four Penguins On Preseason All-American Team

FCS Football Central has placed Beau Brungard, Desmeal Leigh and Michael Wells on their Preseason All-American First Team. Defensive back Dev Holman was selected for Second Team.
The 2026 Preseason FCS Football Central All-American Team honors the best returning players in FCS football, per Sports Illustrated.
Brungard and Wells were selected for the Stats Perform FCS Preseason-All American First Team while Leigh was selected to the Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-American Second Team. Holman, a transfer from Butler is looking to make a statement this year as he joins the Penguins defensive squad. Holman was a 2025 first team All-PFA selection at defensive back, starting in 12 games, recording 44 total tackles, 7.5 TFL's and forced three fumbles with two interceptions. He will be a strong asset to the Penguins defense this season.
This year's All-American Team features 83 players, 11 conferences and 40 schools. Montana State leads all teams with 10 selections, followed by UC Davis and South Dakota State with six selections each. Youngstown State, Montana, Illinois State and Rhode Island each have four selections.
Nine players from last year's postseason first team return, including Brungard, Montana running back Eli Gillman, Furman defensive end Joshua Stonking, and Yale safety Abu Kamara.
