Youngstown, Ohio -- The Youngstown State women's golf team will compete in six tournaments across five different states from late August to late October during the fall portion of its 2026-27 season. YSU head coach Nate Miklos announced the team's complete fall schedule on Wednesday.
"I'm very excited about our fall schedule," Miklos said. "This fall will be the best and toughest schedule we have had in my time here. This year's fall schedule will challenge our players and give us a great opportunity to play some tremendous golf courses. We have a really strong team returning, and I am excited to see the progress we can make against such great competition."
YSU will open the 2026-27 campaign on Aug. 31 by hosting the 12th annual Roseann Schwartz Invitational at Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio. The one-day, 36-hole event will be played on Mill Creek's South Course. The tournament is named in honor of Roseann Schwartz, who was YSU's women's golf coach from the program's inception in 1996 until 2013. Schwartz was inducted into the YSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.
The Penguins will then compete in the Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational on Sept. 7-8 at the Penn State Blue Course in University Park, Pa. YSU is scheduled to compete at Penn State's fall tournament for the fifth time in the last six seasons.
The Guins are scheduled to participate in the Michigan State Mary Fossum Invitational on Sept. 20-21 at Forest Akers West Golf Course in Lansing, Mich. Youngstown State will continue its fall slate on Sept. 26-27 with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Classic at Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind.
The Penguins will return home to host Mercyhurst in a dual match on Oct. 4 at Mill Creek Golf Course before closing the fall season with the Delaware Lady Blue Hen Invitational on Oct. 24-25 at Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
YSU is slated to compete at Notre Dame's fall event for the second straight season. The Guins have been a part of the tournament field at Delaware's fall tournament three times in the last four campaigns.
