Youngstown, Ohio — Youngstown State supporters and area golfers enjoyed two days of sunshine and ideal playing conditions at the 2026 State Farm Penguin Club Scholarship Golf Outing this week at Youngstown Country Club.
The event, a four-person scramble that has grown to two separate flights, set a new record for revenue thanks to continued enthusiasm from supporters. The 2026 edition, the 14th held at YCC and the 39th overall outing, featured 64 foursomes spread out over Wednesday afternoon's flight and Thursday morning's session, plus three foursomes who purchased a "Wish You Were Here" package to golf at the historic course at a later date.
State Farm Insurance returned as the title sponsor of the event, and the presenting sponsors were A.P. O'Horo Co., Compco, Jackson-Dieken & Associates, Johnson Controls, R.G. Steel Corp., Trumbull Industries and Yellowstone Industrial.
Following the 18 holes on Wednesday afternoon, golfers enjoyed a dinner in the clubhouse from Gia Russa and a chat by Youngstown State head bowling coach Doug Kuberski. On Thursday, lunch was provided by the Youngstown Country Club.
In addition to State Farm and presenting sponsors, the Penguin Club would like to extend gratitude to Axio Fitness, Chick-fil-A on Tiffany Square Plaza, DiRusso's Sausage, Giannios Candy Co., Gia Russa, Pepsi Beverage Co., Schwebel Baking and Youngstown Country Club.
