The Youngstown State Football Alumni/Ned Mervos Golf outing was another spectacular event as nearly 150 golfers were treated to a great time at the Youngstown Country Club on Friday afternoon.

The group was able to take advantage of a sun-splashed day on the course which brought out smiles from everyone.

Taking first place in the outing was the foursome of Sam Grooms, Sam Grooms, Jr., Ken Parise and Rob Blanchard. Placing second was Dan Isaac, Matt Rollins, Fletcher Christie and Chris Sammarone. The third-place group was John Nevotne, Tom Meola, Tom Orosz and Bill McDermott.

Prior to the event, Head Coach Doug Phillips thanked the participants for their support and introduced QB Beau Brungard, LB Mike Wells and TE Alex McDonald. Matt Hogg, president of the Football Alumni Group, also thanked the audience and appreciated the support from many to make the event a huge success.
