The Youngstown State Penguin Club celebrated a tremendous SES Engineering Penguin Club Jamboree last night at Waypoint 4180 in Canfield.
A fantastic crowd enjoyed great food, good conversation and an amazing evening as the event celebrated its 30th anniversary.
A highlight of the night was a Jim Tressel painting that was created by live speed painter Cody Sabol. His impressive portrait of the Penguin and Buckeyes legend was outstanding. YSU also auctioned off a Pete the Penguin painting that Sabol made during the 2024-25 basketball season.
That was sold in the live auction as were other great prizes that included a dinner with Head Basketball Coach Ethan Faulkner, a cookout with Head Football Coach Doug Phillips, tickets to an event featuring John Daly, a two-night stay at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, a condo in Mrytle Beach and Peek n' Peak, football travel experiences to UNI, Kentucky, Sacramento State and South Dakota State. The final auction item were two courtside tickets to the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Los Angeles Lakers contest in January.
Numerous one-of-a-kind red bag and silent auction were also part of the event.
All-in-all, the event helped support YSU student-athletes and was a great time for Penguins fans to enjoy together.
