Springboro, Ohio -- The Youngstown State men's golf team placed ninth at the two-day Wright State Invitational, which concluded on Monday from Heatherwoode Golf Club.
The Penguins concluded their final tournament before the 2026 Horizon League Championships with a three-round team total of 887 (+35). YSU opened the event with team scores of 288 and 304 in the first two rounds, respectively, on Sunday before concluding play with a 295 in the third and final round on Monday.
Jordan Kish finished tied for 28th at seven over par for the tournament with a three-round score of 220 (69-76-75). The sophomore matched his season and career low round with a two-under-par 69 in the opening round on Sunday that featured 11 pars, three birdies and an eagle on the par-five No. 9.
Michael Porter finished tied for 35th at nine over par with a three-round total of 222 (73-76-73). The redshirt junior's final-round 73 included 10 pars and three birdies as he fired a one-under-par 34 on the back nine.
Jake Ryan finished tied for 40th with a three-round score of 223 (74-75-74). The junior's first-round 74 on Sunday featured eight pars, three birdies and an eagle on the par-five No. 9 as he carded a one-under-par 35 on the front nine.
Ryan Sam concluded the tournament with a three-round total of 225 (72-77-76). The senior's one-over-par 72 in the opening round included 11 pars and three birdies.
Nolan Shilling finished with a three-round score of 229 (74-82-73). The redshirt sophomore's third-round 73 featured 14 pars and a birdie on the par-four No. 2.
Playing as an individual, Rocco Turner recorded a three-round total of 231 (73-82-76) while Josh Weiner turned in a three-round 235 (75-84-76).
Wright State won its home tournament title by 24 shots over runner-up Indian Hills. The Raiders posted a three-round team total of 820 to finish at 32 under par. IU Indy placed third with an 864, Findlay finished fourth with an 870 and Ashland rounded out the top five with an 868.
Wright State's Timmy Hollenbeck claimed individual medalist honors at 14 under par with a three-round score of 199 (61-71-67). Hollenbeck's teammate Adam Horn was the individual runner-up with a three-round total of 207 (69-71-67).
Youngstown State will now begin preparations for the 2026 Horizon League Men's Golf Championship, which is scheduled for April 25-27 at Mission Resort + Club in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla.
