The Youngstown State men's golf team will continue its spring schedule on Monday when it begins play in the two-day Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
The Penguins finished 16th as a team in their spring season opener at the Savannah Intercollegiate (Feb. 21-22). Sophomore Jordan Kish finished tied for 33rd with a three-round score of 226 (74-74-78) to come in as YSU's top individual while Ryan Sam finished tied for 38th with a three-round total of 227 (76-73-78).
The tournament field at the Jackrabbit Invitational will feature 10 other schools including Embry-Riddle Aeronautical (Ariz.), IU Indy, Kansas City, Missouri State, Morehead State, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Southern Utah and Western Illinois.
Head Coach Tony Joy has announced that YSU's five-player lineup will feature Sam, Kish, Rocco Turner, Michael Porter and Jake Ryan. In addition, Ayden Richmond, Nolan Shilling and Josh Weiner will be competing as individuals for the Penguins.
The teams are slated to play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday in the two-day, 54-hole event. Play is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET each day. The course will play approximately 7,300 yards and par is 72. Live scoring will be available via Scoreboard by Clippd through links posted on YSUsports.com.
Kish, Porter, Sam and Shilling have competed in each of the seven tournaments that YSU has played during the 2025-26 season. Turner has participated in six events this season while Richmond and Ryan have each participated in four events in 2025-26. Weiner competed in one tournament during the fall portion of the campaign.
