The Youngstown State track and field team will send a group of throwers to Morgantown, W. Va., on Friday to compete at the Marty Pushkin Invitational at the Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park.
On Friday, the Guins will have athletes in the javelin and hammer throw which begin at 10 a.m. The hammer throw (men followed by women) will be contested first followed by the javelin (men followed by women).
For the men, Dominic Brown and Levi Glassmeyer will be competing in the hammer throw. For the women, Grace Bundy, Olivia Mason, Brooklynn McIntyre and Grace Sparks will compete in the hammer while Sofie Price and new addition and former YSU volleyball player Bianca Giglio will throw the javelin. Price will be making her YSU outdoor debut at the meet.
YSU athletes competing in Morgantown include Dominic Brown and Levi Glassmeyer in the hammer throw. Glassmeyer will be making his YSU outdoor debut at the meet.
The remainder of the Penguins will open the outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State starting on March 26.
