Youngstown, Ohio – Senior Taylor Berry scored two goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist to lead the Youngstown State women's soccer team to a 4-2 victory over Detroit Mercy on Sunday afternoon.
Berry became the first player to score two goals in a game since Chloe Weiland had two against Purdue Fort Wayne in 2024. Berry also ranks tied for eighth all-time with 11 career goals and is tied for fifth all time with 31 career points. She's also just the 12th player in program history to score at least 10 career goals.
Freshman Kamryn Rosa, who has scored in three of the las four games, and sophomore Sara Felder both scored goals while Camille Bultel had two assists and Baylee Williams added another. Rosa's four goals in 2025 are the most by a YSU freshman since Marcella Sizer had five in 2019.
With the win, the Penguins improve to 3-8-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the Horizon League while the Titans fall to 2-9-1 overall and 0-3-1 in league play.
The Penguins go on the board first when Rosa gathered a goal kick and sprinted past the Titan defenders and beat UDM goalkeeper Eva Hill with a right-footer to the lower-right corner at the 15:53 mark.
The Titans scored goals in the 21st and 51 minutes to take a 2-1 lead, but Berry knotted the game at 2-2 on a penalty kick at the 52:01 mark.
Bultel sent a through ball down the right side and Williams centered to Berry who beat the goalkeeper at the 60:22 mark for the eventual game-winning.
The Penguins tacked on an insurance goal less than three minutes later when Bultel, after a header from Berry, lofted a pass over the defense and Felder's one-timer found an empty net.
