Opening Kick
• The Youngstown State women's soccer team plays its final non-conference game before the start of Horizon League play when it visits Duquesne, Thursday, Sept. 11.

The Matchup
• This is the 16th meeting between Youngstown State and Duquesne in a series dating back to 1996.
• The Dukes lead the all-time series, 11-2-2, and won the last contest, 2-1, at Farmers National Bank Field in 2024.
• Youngstown State knocked off Duquesne, 2-1, at Rooney Field in 2023.
• YSU's Chloe Weiland scored with just 37 seconds left to lead the Youngstown State women's soccer team to a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Duquesne.
• With the game in its final minute, the Penguins defense cleared a ball up the left side. Taylor Berry corralled the ball just past midfield and centered to Weiland streaking down the middle of the field.
• Weiland split a pair of defenders, raced to the penalty box, fought off a Duquesne defender and laced a left-footer off the Dukes' goalkeeper and into the lower right of the goal.
• Just moments before Weiland's game-winner, senior goalkeeper Brooklynn Kirkpatrick made her sixth and final save of the game, a full-extended diving save at the lower-right corner.

• Naimoli also ranks tied for fifth on the career wins list with six.
Getting to Three
• Against the Bonnies, Youngstown State scored three goals in a game for the first time since a 3-1 victory over Robert Morris on Oct. 30, 2024.
• It also marked the fourth time since the start of the 2023 campaign the Penguins scored at least three goals in game.

Newcomers Make Impact
• Newcomers have made a big impact for the Penguins early on in the 2025 campaign, scoring 16 of the Penguins' 20 points.
• Junior Camille Bultel leads the team with three goals and an assist for seven total points.
• Freshman Baylee Williams is second on the Penguins with five points on two goals and an assist.
• Freshman Kamryn Rosa has three points on a goal and an assist, while freshman Leah Weiland has tallied an assist.
Naimoli Putting In Work
• In her first six games of the year, sophomore goalkeeper Maya Naimoli has been tested.
• She has faced a total of 133 shots and has tallied 46 saves, including a career-high 15 against Michigan on Sept. 7.
Big Debut
• A pair of Youngstown State freshmen scored their first career points in their first collegiate game against Indiana on Aug. 14.
• Freshman Baylee Williams notched her first career goal, and she was assisted by redshirt freshman Leah Weiland for her first career assist.
Top Scorers Return|
• One of the top advantages for Youngstown State entering the season is the Penguins' top four scorers from the 2024 season return.
• Senior forwards Taylor Berry, Chloe Weiland, and sophomore striker Sara Felder and senior defender Emma Rigone are all back for YSU.
• Berry, who ranks 10th all-time with 27 career points, led the Penguins with nine points after scoring a pair of goals and dishing out five assists.
• Her assists were the most in a season since Ernestina Abambila had eight in 2016.
•Weiland, who has scored seven goals in the last two seasons, posted three goals and added an assist for seven points.
• Felder, who was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team, also scored three goals for the Penguins.
• Rigone, a defender, notched two goals and added two assists for six points.
Felder, Naimoli Earned Accolades
• Forward Sara Felder and goalkeeper Maya Naimoli were both named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team in 2024.
• Felder tied for the team lead with three goals while Naimoli posted three shutouts and 96 saves.
Weiland Impressive
• Senior Chloe Weiland has been the Penguins top goal scorer over the last two seasons.
• The Butler, Pa., native posted three goals in 2024 and led the Penguins with four scores during the 2023 season.
• She has a total of seven goals during her career.
