Kent, Ohio – Youngstown State struck first, but Penguins women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to Kent State on Thursday evening at Zoeller Field at Dix Stadium.
The Penguins fall to 1-4-0 overall while the Golden Flashes improve to 2-1-1.
In the 11th minute, junior Camille Bultel slid a cross from Chloe Weiland into the high center of the net to give the Penguins a 1-0 lead.
The Golden Flashes tied the game just 1:25 later and took the lead for good in the 22nd minute.
Kent State also scored three goals in the second half.
Youngstown State visits St. John's, Sunday, Aug. 31. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. in Queens, N.Y.
