Lubbock, Texas – The Youngstown State women's soccer team battled for 90 minutes but dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 25 Texas Tech on Sunday evening at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
Junior Camille Bultel scored her first goal of the season off assists from Kamryn Rosa and Chloe Weiland. Goalkeeper Maya Naimoli recorded a career-high 11 saves for the Penguins (0-2-0).
The Red Raiders (2-0-0) scored three times in the first 23 minutes of the match and held on to a three-goal advantage through halftime and Bultel's score.
In the 70th minute, Rosa slid a pass to an open Weiland streaking down the right side. Weiland's centered pass connected with Bultel at the six and she hit the lower-right of the net.
Texas Tech added another score in the 75th minute.
Youngstown State faced Missouri, Wednesday, Aug. 20. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at the Audrey J. Walton Soccer Stadium in Columbia, Mo.
