The Youngstown State women's track and field team placed four student-athletes on the 2025 Valeo Women's Indoor #HLTF All-Academic Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
Earning Academic team accolades were Ainsley Hamsher and Esther Solarin while Madison Murry and Krista Perry received honorable-mention recognition.
Solarin was named the Outstanding Field Performer at the Horizon League Championships. She won the long jump and triple jump events at the league meet, the first indoor wins of her career. She had a personal-best leap of 6.03m to win the YSU Mid-Major Invitational and she briefly set school records in the triple jump on two separate occasions.
Hamsher placed second in the pole vault at the Horizon League Championships. She cleared a height of 4.01m at the league meet. In February, she tied the school record with a clearance of 4.13m at the YSU Last Chance Invitational. Hamsher finished in the top three in all six pole vault competitions during the year.
A fifth-year senior, Murry finished third in the 60m hurdles at the Horizon League Championships. She placed in the top three in the 60m hurdles on four occasions in career. During the indoor campaign, Murry won the 60m hurdles at the YSU Icebreaker and the YSU Collegiate Invitational. Set the school record of 8.36 seconds in the event at the YSU Icebreaker
Perry finished seventh in the weight throw at the Horizon League Championships. During the year, she placed second in the weight throw at the YSU Last Chance Invitational, the YSU Mid-Major Invitational and the YSU Icebreaker.
