Kalamazoo, Mich. – The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 win over Western Michigan on Saturday at the West Hills Athletic Club.
The Penguins (6-4) won all six singles contests in straight sets and took the doubles point from the Broncos (5-3). YSU has now won three straight matches.
YSU won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. At No. 1, Julia Marko and Ghada Dirninger won by a score of 7-5 and at No. 2, Lili Minich and Line Greyling picked up a 6-4 win.
In singles, Marko won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, Minich won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2, Lorena Cedeno captured a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 3. At No. 4, Yeseniia Ovcharova won 6-2, 6-3, while at No. 5, Dirninger won 7-5, 6-1 and Greyling earned a 7-6, 6-1 win at No. 6.
YSU returns to action on Friday when it plays Ball State in East Lansing, Mich.
