Mahoning Valley standout Nathan Miller has signed to join the Youngstown State men's golf team in the fall of 2026, YSU head coach Tony Joy announced on Wednesday.
"Adding Nathan to our Penguin golf family will be an important step in continuing to improve our goals for success," said Joy. Nathan has been a local standout who has really come into his own as one of the most talented golfers in the Mahoning Valley."
Miller, who is currently a senior at nearby Canfield High School, was a four-year varsity member of the Cardinal men's golf team. The Canfield, Ohio, native was named the All-American Conference Player of the Year as a senior in 2025 while also earning First-Team Academic All-Ohio accolades.
Miller was a two-time district qualifier and a four-time AAC Tournament champion from 2022-25. He was named First-Team All-Northeast Ohio as a senior in 2025 while earning honorable mention honors as a junior in 2024. Miller finished his accomplished four-year career with a nine-hole average of 33.77, an 18-hole average of 72.25 and a low round of 66.
As a senior in 2025, Miller earned medalist honors and led Canfield to a team victory at the Howland Tournament while claiming medalist honors at the Canfield Invitational with a career-low round of 66. He also finished tied for first place at the YCC Invitational with a 71 and won a playoff to be declared medalist. Miller finished tied for second place after shooting a 74 at the OHSAA District Tournament at Tannenhauf Golf Club.
