The Youngstown State men's golf team will continue its spring schedule on Sunday when it begins play in the two-day Wright State Invitational at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio.
The Penguins finished 12th at The Jewell hosted by Northern Kentucky on April 7 in their most recent tournament. Redshirt junior Michael Porter finished tied for seventh individually with a three-round score of 216 (74-74-68) to earn his third top 10 performance of the season.
The tournament field at the Wright State Invitational will feature 13 other schools including Ashland, Chicago State, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Illinois, Findlay, Green Bay, Indian Hills, IU Indy, Mercyhurst, Southern Indiana, Wright State and Xavier.
The teams are scheduled to play 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday in the two-day, 54-hole event. Play is slated to begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. each day. Live scoring will be available via Scoreboard by Clippd through links posted on YSUsports.com.
Head Coach Tony Joy has announced that YSU's six-player lineup will feature Ryan Sam, Nolan Shilling, Porter, Jordan Kish, Josh Weiner and Jake Ryan. In addition, Rocco Turner will be competing as an individual for the Penguins.
Kish, Porter and Sam have competed in each of the 10 tournaments that YSU has played during the 2025-26 season. Shilling and Turner have each participated in nine events this season while Weiner has competed in four tournaments and Ryan has seen action in five events.
