Highland Heights, Ky. – The Penguins struck first, but Northern Kentucky knocked off the Youngstown State women's soccer team, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon at the NKU Soccer Stadium.
The Penguins fall to 7-9-2 overall and 5-2-2 in Horizon League play. The Norse improved to 10-25 overall and 7-1-1.
Freshman Kamryn Rosa continued her outstanding freshman campaign by giving the Penguins a 1-0 lead at the 39:55 mark with her seventh goal of the season.
The Norse tied the game three minutes later and scored twice in the second half to take a 3-1 lead.
Felder notched her seventh goal of the year in the 76th minute but the Penguins could not get any closer.
Goalkeeper Maya Naimoli recorded six saves.
Youngstown State closes out the regular season hosting Robert Morris, Wednesday, Oct. 29. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
