Youngstown, Ohio – The Youngstown State women's soccer team extended its school-record unbeaten streak to six games after knocking off Oakland, 3-0, on Thursday evening at Farmers National Bank Field.

The Penguins, who have won three straight, improved to 6-8-2 and 5-1-2 in Horizon League play. The five conference victories tied the school record for most league wins. Oakland fell to 2-7-6 overall and 1-2-4 in league action.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maya Naimoli posted her third straight shutout with two saves, and she became the second player in school history to post three consecutive clean sheets in Horizon League action. Naimoli, who has four shutouts this season and seven for her career, now ranks tied for second all-time.

Freshman Kamryn Rosa collected her sixth goal of the season and fifth in conference action, and junior Eva Sunjevaric and senior Chloe Weiland each scored their first goals of the year to lead the Penguins.

Sophomore Sara Felder posted two assists on Rosa's and Weiland's goals.

The Penguins struck first last in the first half. Rosa caused a turnover and found an open Felder on the left side of the 18.  Felder drilled a shot off the crossbar, and Rosa immediately headed the ball into the high-right corner for a 1-0 lead at the 31:18 mark.

Just 54 seconds into the second half, Sunjevaric blasted a free-kick from 20 yards out into the upper left corner to put YSU up, 2-0, at the 45:54 mark.

Weiland sealed the victory in the 84th minute and gave the Penguins the 3-0 advantage. Felder sent a through ball into Oakland territory, and Weiland raced past the defense and beat the Oakland goalkeeper with a shot into the lower-left corner.

Youngstown State hosts South Carolina State on Senior Day, Sunday, Oct. 19. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Farmers National Bank Field.
