Eugene, Oregon - Youngstown State senior Esther Solarin earned Honorable-Mention All-America honors following action at Hayward Field on Saturday at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
In her NCAA debut, Solarin placed 19th in the women's triple jump with a best leap of 12.88m which came on her second attempt. She opened with a jump of 12.31m and finished with a mark of 12.57m. Following her second mark, she stood in 12th place.
Solarin ties with former Penguin Erin Bogard for the highest finish by a women's athlete at the NCAA Championships in program history.
