Los Angeles, Calif. – Youngstown State's Hunter Christopher lowered his school record in the 5,000m late Saturday evening at Sound Running's 2024 Track Fest held at Occidental College's Jack Kemp Stadium.
Christopher clocked a time of 13:50.89 in the tightly-contested race. He finished in fourth place by just a second-and-a-half. He had previously set the school mark of 13:53.13 on March 28 at the Raleigh Relays.
The Penguins are in the hunt for numerous spots at the NCAA East Prelims which will be held later this month in Lexington, Ky. Those selected for the prelims will be announced on Thursday.
