The Youngstown State men's tennis picked up a 6-1 win on Senior Day over IUPUI at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center on Sunday.
With the win, YSU improves to 9-10 overall and 3-4 in the Horizon League while the Jaguars fall to 8-16 and 2-5. With the win, Youngstown State moves into third place in North standings and avenges a 4-3 defeat to IUPUI from earlier this season.
The Penguins dropped the doubles point, but regrouped to sweep all six singles matches.
At No. 1, Nishant Dabas collected a 6-3, 6-3 win. At No. 2, Nathan Favier won his match by a 6-4, 6-3 margin. Winning at No. 3 was Onder Balci who won 7-5, 6-0. At No. 4, William Rassat also won by a score of 7-5, 6-0.
The other two wins came in three sets. At No. 5, Harry Fouzas rallied for a 5-7, 6-1, 10-5 win while senior David Alvarez Moreno won his final home match by a score of 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.
YSU closes out the regular season next Saturday when it visits Cleveland State. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
