Boston, Mass. – Youngstown State's Tye Hunt finished ninth in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at the Track at New Balance.
Hunt had a best leap of 7.66m which qualified him eighth for the finals.
Winning the event was Arkansas' Wayne Pinnock while Jeremiah Davis from Florida State was second and Malcolm Clemons from Florida was third.
Hunt had a leap of 7.44m on his first try before putting forth a best effort of 7.66m on his second attempt. Entering the finals he was ahead of Caleb Foster of Florida.
In the finals, Hunt had a best jump of 7.62m on his final attempt.
