Cincinnati, Ohio – The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Northern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon at the Five Seasons Sports Club.
YSU falls to 7-9 overall and 1-3 in the Horizon League while NKU improves to 9-6 and 3-1.
The Penguins started strong winning the doubles point. At No. 1, Nathan Favier and Onder Balci won 6-4 while at No. 3, Harry Fouzas and David Alvarez Moreno were reunited and won 6-1.
However, the Norse won four of six singles contests to rally for the win. Nishant Dabas picked up a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 2 while Fouzas won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4. NKU had victories in straight sets in the other four contests.
YSU plays host to Le Moyne in a non-league contest on Thursday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
