The Youngstown State men's tennis team picked up their first Horizon League win over the year by beating Chicago State 6-1 at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

Picking up singles wins for the Penguins in order of finish were William Rassat (No. 3), Asier Pena Ibanez (No. 6), Nishant Dabas (No. 2), David Alvarez Moreno (No. 5) and Onder Balci (No. 4).

At No. 4, Rassat picked up a strong 6-2, 6-4 victory. At No. 6, Ibanez brought home a 6-4, 6-3 win. In action at No. 2, Dabas picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win. At No. 4, Balci picked up a hard-fought 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 win.

In doubles, the Guins made quick work of the point winning a pair of matches in 25 minutes. At No. 3, Favier and Asier Pena Ibanez cruised to a 6-1 win while at No. 1, Balci and Dabas wrapped it up with a 6-4 win. YSU led 4-2 (40-15) at No. 2 when the point was clinched.

The Guins return to action on Friday when they visit IUPUI.
